Meet Dr. Ian Barwick

Changing Lives in the Merrimack Valley

Dracut Dentist Ian Barwick

Dr. Barwick will put a smile on your face

“The most fulfilling part of my job is seeing a patient through to the end of a successful treatment plan – it’s a shared journey.”

For the Love of Your Smile

Dr. Barwick is most fulfilled as a dentist at the end of a patient’s journey. He views each patient treatment plan – whether spread over one year or ten – as a journey shared together, completed together, and as a great success when the end is reached together.

“Every patient needs to be offered the best that dentistry has to offer,” says Dr. Barwick. “Not everyone can afford it or wants to do it all at once. But when we can do it over a period of time, everyone wins.” Being a part of changing lives through dental care is his reward – watching patients develop self-esteem, knowing they are beginning to look at themselves differently through the process, and being there when they see themselves in the mirror at the end.

A Musical Foundation to a Medical Career

Like many college students, Ian Barwick wasn’t sure what he wanted to do once he finished school. Although he loves music and ultimately graduated with a degree in music, he always had an eye toward a career in the medical field.

Just as he was preparing to go back to school to complete his pre-med requirements, friends and family began encouraging him to consider dentistry. “I played a lot of guitar in those days, so I was good with my hands,” explains Dr. Barwick. “Dentistry seemed to be a natural fit.”

After observing at several dental practices, Dr. Barwick made the decision to enroll in dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.

It’s Always Been About the Patients

Even in school, meeting new patients was always Dr. Barwick’s favorite part of dentistry.

“I loved meeting new patients!” he says excitedly. “I still have great memories of many of the patients I treated in dental school.”

Dr. Barwick prides himself on his patient-centered approach to comprehensive dental care. “Our office and all the procedures we perform are designed primarily with your comfort in mind. We want you to love coming to the dentist!”

Never Done With Learning

Over the years Dr. Barwick has demonstrated a great commitment to personal growth by consistently going beyond the minimum requirements for continuing professional education in dentistry. He and his wife Pat joke that he’s addicted to learning. “I can quit anytime!” jokes Dr. Barwick.

He is constantly seeking new information about updated clinical techniques and research that can benefit you as a patient. Dr. Barwick routinely exceeds the number of continuing education hours he’s required to take to maintain his license, and he’s thrilled! “Improving practice management and patient care are extremely important to me.”

“I want to stay on the cutting edge of dentistry – my patients deserve it. We take great pride in our ability to provide the most modern dental service available.”
